THE CURRICULUM
“To set forth fearless and resolute,” is the summary of our institutional goals. Thus, our school develops its students for college preparedness and career readiness through the progressive learning and teaching approach.
Britesparks International School follows a curriculum based on international standards that challenges its students with ambitious but achievable goals. Topics within subject areas are carefully articulated to ensure that there is a clear progression as students move to a higher level.
To provide a richer or integrated learning experience to its students, the academic budget for each level in BIS is divided into different thematic units. This approach enables students to learn the value of relational understanding over instrumental understanding. The former empowers students by making them confident even when faced with unfamiliar situations, new environments or even more difficult lessons.
We at BIS make this approach possible through the use of UbD or Understanding by Design in planning our learning units. Overall, the curricular efforts in BIS brings authentic education that are based on what can prepare its students to go further in continuing studies, life, career and business.
HISTORY

BRIEF HISTORY
The history of Britesparks roots from its establishment in year 2000 as a progressive preschool center. With the goal of guiding its students to explore their capabilities and discover new things in their most effective method, BIS has kept on innovating both its teaching approach and its learning environment.
In 2013, the school was able to move to its own building in Metropoli Drive, C5-Libis. Its new location at the heart of Quezon City offers its students not only an accessible learning environment but also a very safe place to expand what they can do.
To date, Britesparks is a progressive international school that offers complete basic education courses and pre-college academic strands. One of its updated aims includes developing its students to be future leaders and entrepreneurs. BIS believes that students like these become the people who make good and sustainable impact on the global society. Subjects like Business Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology are added across its curriculum to realize this objective.
To provide its students the best educational experience, BIS also aims to be accredited by Cambridge and International Baccalaureate to officially implement their curricular programs. The school also prepares to acquire regular membership status from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Council of International Schools (CIS).
VISION MISSION
-
Mission, Vision and School Philosophy
Mission
To provide exceptional and accessible international educational services with a school experience that will allow students to reach their fullest potential, form exemplary character, and to lay a foundation for a successful, productive and satisfying life.
Vision
To empower students to succeed and become leaders in a global society.
The School
We value the unique dimensions of each child, build kindness and compassion in the community and foster self-efficacy, integrity and resilience.
The Home
We adhere to student education in the context of the family. Continuity between home and school is an integral part of the progressive philosophy and as such, we encourage family members to take part in the different aspects of the student’s learning process to ensure that each lesson is made even more meaningful for the student. Involvement occurs in, but is not limited to extra-curricular events; but more importantly, it is focused on the student’s needs.
