OVERVIEW

BIS Junior High School Program

Caters to students aged 12-16 years. Under this program are the Grades 7 to 10 levels. This program is equivalent to the Department of Education's High School Program, Cambridge Secondary 1 and Secondary 2 and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program.

Similar to the Grade school program, students actively engage in a progressive learning experience across all subjects. Students learn though authentic learning activities where students apply their concepts into real-world situations. Students also learn in a collaborative environment where they construct their own ideas though critical thinking skills. Teachers promote the holistic development of the students by enriching their skills, encouraging creativity, and strengthen their characters.

Core subjects are based on internationally recognized standards, such as the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts, the English National Curriculum for Social Studies, and the Singapore Curriculum Framework for Science and Mathematics. Students also have the opportunity to develop their skills in Visual Arts, Physical Education, Information and Communication Technology (computer literacy), and Business Management (Entrepreneurship).
